‘A Bumper Crop Of Thieving Weasels’ – MN Police Department
A Minnesota police department used humor in a recent social media post about crimes of opportunity. The Mendota Heights Police Department used the phrase 'thieving weasels' to describe the criminals taking advantage of the recent unseasonably warm temps.
The Mendota Heights Police Department posted yesterday about criminals taking advantage of the warmer weather to commit crimes of opportunity. The post also included a photo of a possible suspect in a recent theft.
What stood out was how the Mendota Police Department described the thieves in their post.
The message uses some tongue-in-cheek humor but does make some good points in terms of common sense safety, no matter what the weather outside is like.
Remember if you are leaving your vehicle outside to lock your doors, and take out the garage door opener and any valuables. Another common sense thing you can do this time of year is to make sure you've closed and locked/secured your side or rear access to your garage.
Most of the summer it seems we'd see people leaving side or rear access doors open during the day for their pets to go in and out, or for the kids running in and out all day.
Hopefully, the Mendota Police catch their 'weasels', and you remember to 'weasel' proof your garage and vehicle.
