Camp Ripley Warns Local Residents About Noise From Training
Camp Ripley is trying to let residents in and around the active training camp know that there will be more noise than normal. A social media post advises those living around the camp that training is taking place, which will feature low-flying planes conducting maneuvers that the public may see or hear.
Training Will Feature Lower Flying Aircraft
The social media post from Camp Ripley advises the public that they may see or hear parts of training that are occurring at the camp, as well as see low-flying aircraft.
Training To Be Ready For Anything
People who live in the area of the military camp are used to seeing or hearing loud noises and seeing planes at lower altitudes. Even living South of St. Cloud, I often see or hear parts training occurring from the camp; you'll know based on the type of aircraft flying overhead.
The training is needed to make sure our armed forces are prepared for just about any scenario that may occur.
Tanks Are A Common Sight At The Base
Camp Ripley, according to the National Guard website, "features numerous ranges and state-of-the-art facilities to support unit training requirements. The post has a full complement of automated small arms and tank ranges as well as several specialized training facilities. The post also has a maneuver training area capable of supporting a heavy brigade."
When I have had the chance to tour the facility, it was incredible to see just how much space the camp has, including tank artillery ranges.

It was about a month ago that Camp Ripley let the public know they may see tanks rolling into the camp by rail, as it was part of the "Army's modernization plan".
