If you are looking for a fun date idea, did you know there is already an outdoor skating rink that's open for the season? The outdoor rink is also the largest refrigerated outdoor ice rink in the world!

Not Quite Winter, But That Isn't Stopping One MN Rink From Opening

A Twin Cities outdoor ice skating rink, which also happens to be the largest refrigerated outdoor ice rink in the world, just opened this week for the upcoming outdoor skating season. The John Rose Minnesota Oval opened up to the public on Wednesday.

Ready For Some Open Hockey & Open Skating Opportunities?

The City of Roseville, which is where you'll find the John Rose Minnesota Oval, operates the rink, and according to their online calendar, there are opportunities for the public to use the rink for both open hockey and skating almost every day in November, with a few exceptions.

The cost to enjoy the Oval is pretty budget friendly, as open skating will cost you $9, plus $5 for a skate rental, but note they have limited sizes, so it might be better to bring your own, or if in the off chance you don't have some, I've found that a few hardware stores will have ice skate sales around Thanksgiving where you can grab a pair for less than $20.

The Oval also offers ice skate sharpening for a small fee, too, if you arrive and realize your blades need a touch-up.

What Happens To The Oval When It's Not Being Used After The Season?

According to the City of Roseville website, when it's not in use for ice skating, speed skating, and other activities outside of March, when it closes to ice skating, it's a free opportunity for those who would like to enjoy an "aggressive skate park and inline skating" venue.

You can learn more about the Oval, including its address, if you plan on checking it out over the Thanksgiving holiday, by heading here.

6 Photos You Won't Believe Were Taken In Minnesota

After having spent the greater part of the last three weeks outside Minnesota, it has been great to be back. We live in a very beautiful part of the country. From the North Shore's jagged cliffs to the rolling croplands of southern Minnesota and to the driftless area near Preston, our state is filled with beautiful sights. I managed to find 6 photos that were taken right here in Minnesota, but when you look at them, you'd think they were taken somewhere else completely. Let's enjoy the land of 10,000 photos, shall we?

LOOKS: Things You'd Find in Your Grandpa's Garage

Adventures were plentiful in the domain of your family's patriarch who saw no use for rules - unless he was the one making them. From rusty tools to a stack of filthy magazines, Grandpa's garage was a land of mystery and danger.
