Is Christmas in July Really a Thing in Minnesota

It's the six month mark.  Christmas in July.  To many people Christmas is their absolute favorite holiday.  So, if you are one of those people, celebrating it only once a year might seem like not enough.  So, celebrating a sort of made of up holiday might seem like a great idea.

CHRISTMAS ISN'T JUST FOR DECEMBER ANYMORE

Christmas - when I think of that, I think of snow, cold, sleigh rides, jingle bells, and lights.  You can do all of those things now, except the snow and cold.  So, it's kind of like having Christmas at the normal time in December if you lived somewhere like California, Arizona or Florida.  I guess we could pretend.

LETS LOOK AT SOME OF THE EVENTS HAPPENING FOR CHRISTMAS IN JULY

There are actually some Christmas in July events that are happening around Minnesota.

Pioneer Place in St. Cloud has a "book now pay later" Christmas in July Facebook event.  Basically, you book your spot now, but you don't have to pay until a later date.  The description says this: Reserve NOW! And pay later. It's a summer thing. More shows yet to be listed. Stay tuned.

On July 23 from 3:30 to 7pm you can visit the farmers market in Monticello. They plan to have vendor booths decked out in Christmas decor, and even a visit from Santa.  Get your requests and wishes in early for Christmas in December.

How about a family camping trip?  The city of Jordan's KOA campground is preparing for a weekend of Christmas in July on July 18th.  Some of the events include campside decorating contest, kids crafts and a $2 ice cream social.

Head to Howard Lake for an event on July 23rd through the 25th.  The Vintage Exchange has you browsing through some holidya collectibles and decorations.  You will probably find something fairly unique in this shop.
