Young Rochester Man Accused of Assaulting Olmsted County Deputy During Warrant Arrest
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man in custody is accused of attacking a deputy during a warrant arrest.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Parkin said the arrest and alleged assault occurred in Rochester on Wednesday morning. Deputies went to the home to serve the warrant around 9:30 a.m.
Parkin said deputies believed the wanted man was at a home in the 2300 block of Valleyhigh Dr. Northwest.
The home’s occupants told law enforcement the man they were looking for, identified as 21-year-old Jabriel Meeks, was not at the home and told them to leave.
The deputies eventually got into the home and detained Meeks. While escorting Meeks to the squad car, he verbally assaulted the deputies, tried pulling away from them and kicked one of the deputies in the leg, Parkin said.
The law officers called for backup to arrest Meeks, who was being restrained on the ground until additional assistance arrived, according to the report.
Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate Meeks was booked into jail by 10:15 a.m.
Meeks was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault of a peace officer, obstructing the legal process and giving a false name to law enforcement, Parkin said.
He is awaiting his first appearance in Olmsted County Court.
