Elgin Mayor Tim Boardman Passes Away at 49
Elgin, MN (KROC-AM News) - The mayor of a small town near Rochester passed away yesterday.
The City of Elgin, through its Facebook page, announced the passing of Mayor Tim Boardman, who had just started serving his second term in the elected office. Boardman was 49 years old.
The Facebook post announcing his death says Mayor Boardman dedicated his life to serving the Elgin community with "passion, integrity, and unwavering commitment."
Mayor Boardman was not just a leader, but a friend and a guiding light for so many of us. His legacy of kindness, vision, and public service will live on in every corner of our community. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
We will honor Mayor Boardman’s memory by continuing to work together to uphold the values he championed and the progress he strived for.
Rest in peace, Mayor Boardman. You will be missed but never forgotten.
Boardman easily won reelection last November, garnering 73% of the votes cast in the election. Prior to being elected mayor in 2022, Boardman served for six years on the Elgin City Council.
