
Rochester Man Gets Prison Sentence for Gun Incident, Drug Conviction
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man has been sentenced to five years in prison for chasing a pair of women with a gun.

29-year-old Ahmed Mohamed Mumin was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, possession of a firearm by an ineligible person and fifth-degree drug possession following his arrest last June.
He admitted to a charge of illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a crime of violence in exchange for the dismissal of felony assault charges and a drug possession count in a plea deal he entered last September.

Rochester Man Sent to Prison for Gun Incident at Essex Park Apartments
The victims told Rochester police they were leaving a visit with a family member at the Essex Park apartment complex at 937 41st St. NW when Mumin produced a gun.

He was alleged to have pointed it at their vehicle as the women turned onto 41st St. NW, according to the criminal complaint in the case.
When officers arrived at the scene, they reported finding Mumin with another man.
The criminal complaint says the two tried to walk away and refused commands to stop before additional officers arrived and apprehended Mumin.
Oxycodone Pills Found
The court document says two oxycodone pills and fragments of a suspected oxycodone pill were found in Mumin's satchel.
He was also accused of possessing a scale with residue that tested positive for cocaine.
Mumin received his sentence on Wednesday. He was credited for five days already spent behind bars.
Prior Drug Case
Court records indicate Mumin will serve the prison sentence concurrently with a 45-month prison term he received for a felony third-degree drug sale conviction.
Mumin was also sentenced for the drug conviction on Wednesday.
