
State Fire Marshal Investigating Friday Morning Fire at Rural Oronoco Home

Oronoco, MN (KROC-AM News)- Multiple agencies responded to a house fire northwest of Rochester in rural Oronoco Friday morning.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Parkin said the scene remained active as of 8 a.m. Friday.
First responders were called to the scene of the structure fire around 5:45 a.m. Parkin indicates the fire caused heavy damage that forced the occupants from their home.

Multiple Agencies Respond to House Fire in Rural Oronoco Friday Morning, Cause Under Investigation
The fire broke out at a home in the 6500 block of 75th Street NW. Parkin says the fire had spread to a majority of the home by the time emergency responders arrived at the scene.
All of the residence’s occupants had gotten out safely. No injuries were reported, Parkin said.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. The Red Cross is assisting displaced residents.
A damage estimate is not yet available. Authorities have also not yet said how many people were displaced by the fire.
Members of the Rochester Fire Department, Pine Island Fire Department, Byron Fire Department and Kasson Fire Department also responded to the scene to fight the house fire.
