
State Patrol ID’s 72-Year-Old Woman Killed in I-90 Crash Near Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The State Patrol has identified the southern Minnesota woman who lost her life in a crash on Interstate 90 in Olmsted County.

First responders were called to the scene of the deadly collision shortly before 9 a.m. A westbound SUV and eastbound car and semi were involved in the fatal crash.
The three vehicles collided just east of the Hwy. 52 interchange. The semi side-swiped the car.
The car then entered westbound I-90 and went into the path of the SUV, according to the state crash report.
72-Year-Old St. James Woman Killed in Chain-Reaction Crash on I-90 Near Hwy. 52 Identified
Authorities identified the SUV driver as 72-year-old Evelyn Marie Brye of St. James. The updated state crash report says she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was identified as 46-year-old Alex Whiteis of Austin. He and his passenger, 18-year-old Reese Whiteis of Austin, were not injured, according to the State Patrol.

The State Patrol says the truck driver also was not hurt. He has been identified as 43-year-old Lewis Plaskey of Loyal, Wisconsin.
Alcohol Not Involved, Everyone Buckled Up
All four of the people involved in the deadly crash were buckled up and alcohol was not a factor, according to the state crash report.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the fatality.
Brye is the 12th person in seven days to die in a crash on Minnesota’s roads.
