Pine Island Woman Charged After Alleged Alcohol-Fueled Incident
Mantorville, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Pine Island woman is facing a first-degree burglary charge, a couple of gross misdemeanor DWI charges, and three other misdemeanor offenses stemming from an alcohol-fueled incident in Kasson on Sunday.
The criminal complaint against 39-year-old Crystal Ondler indicates she was arrested after a police officer responded to a 911 call and found an SUV parked on the front lawn of a residence. The person living in the home told the officer she called for help after Ondler walk into her garage, grabbed her dog, and attempted to strangle the animal.
While speaking to Ondler, the officer stated he could smell an odor of alcohol on her breath and observed her swaying back and forth. The court document says Ondler "stated that she drove to the residence, admitted to drinking, but not knowing how much, and believed that she was in the city of Pine Island.” A preliminary breath test put the woman's blood-alcohol-concentration at .28, which is more than three times above the legal limit for driving.
The criminal complaint also states that, after her arrival at the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, Ondler allegedly threatened to spit in a deputy's face and became hostile. The misdemeanor charges filed against Ondler include disorderly conduct and a count of animal cruelty.
