Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) -  A Red Wing man was critically injured while riding a small scooter this morning.

The State Patrol says 35-year-old David Egan was in the northbound lane of traffic on Highway 61 when he was struck by a box truck that was headed south on the highway. The incident was reported just before 7 AM in an area west of downtown Red Wing near the intersection with Bench Street.

Egan was transported by Red Wing Ambulance to Rochester for treatment at St. Marys Hospital. The State Patrol described his injuries as life-threatening.

The St. Paul man driving the truck, 31-year-old See Vang, was not injured.

The incident remains under investigation.
