Rochester Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Possession, Faces 3 Years
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A plea agreement connected to a 2023 Rochester drug bust calls for a prison sentence.
Court documents indicate that 45-year-old Bol Slim Chhoun was arrested in October 2023 following a traffic stop in southeast Rochester. The arresting officer reported that the Rochester man was driving a vehicle with expired registration and suspected he was under the influence.
The criminal complaint in the case says the officer noticed a bulge in Chhoun’s pocket when he exited the vehicle, which turned out to be a box containing several grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and various drug paraphernalia. That led to a search of the vehicle and the discovery of nearly 30 grams of methamphetamine in the glove compartment.

The court document also states that a piece of paper was found on Chhoun after he was brought to the Olmsted County Jail. The paper listed names and monetary amounts, and the criminal complaint says investigators suspected it was a drug ledger.

Chhoun was charged with first-degree drug sales, second-degree drug possession, and misdemeanor DWI. Under the terms of his plea agreement, Chhoun entered a guilty plea to the drug possession charge earlier this week in exchange for the dismissal of the other charges.
The plea deal calls for a three-year prison sentence. Chhoun is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
