
Rochester Murder Suspect Expected in Court Today
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man suspected in a fatal shooting last week is expected to be formally charged in Olmsted County court today.
Charges Expected Against Rochester Murder Suspect
The Rochester Police Department reported the arrest of 34-year-old Derrell Williams on Friday. He was taken into custody that morning on suspicion of second-degree murder.
Fatal Shooting Reported Thursday Afternoon
Williams was wanted in connection with a shooting that was reported around 5:15 p.m. Thursday at a northwest Rochester apartment complex. According to Rochester police, officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Essex Park Apartments in the 900 block of 41st Street Northwest and found a man with a gunshot wound outside an apartment.
31 Year Old Rochester Man Killed
The shooting victim, 31-year-old Carlton Gardner, was rushed to St. Marys Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. A spokesperson for the Police Department says the preliminary investigation indicated the deadly shooting was not random.

Further information is expected to be released with the filing of a formal criminal complaint against Williams.
