Darius Rucker Packs The Ledge Amphitheater On A Steamy Night
WAITE PARK (WJON News) -- Like a Jukebox Hero, it was another sold-out show at the Ledge Amphitheater Thursday night. Darius Rucker rolled into Waite Park with his "Carolyn's Boy Tour" with opening act Shane Profitt. The hot and humid night, along with the poor air quality, didn't stop people from showing up to enjoy the show. Profitt opened the night at 7:30 p.m. and played a relatively short set before Darius Rucker took the stage at 8:30 p.m.
Rucker played a wide range of music from his country hits to some new music, to songs from his days with Hootie and the Blowfish like "Only Wanna Be With You" and "Hold My Hand." He even did a cover of the Doobie Brothers' "Taking It to the Streets." He told some short stories in between a few songs and told the crowd he was ready for the football season and thought the Vikings would do well.

Rucker played for 75 minutes and then came back out for an encore. At the end of the encore, he told the crowd he normally ends with "Wagon Wheel," but because his son Jack asked, he would do one more, and he went into a cover of Prince's "Purple Rain." Rainbow Kitten Surprise is the next show at the Ledge on August 3rd. Check out the Gallery of Photos from the show below.
