Steven Jensen, age 55, of Hope, MN, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home on Thursday March 21, 2024.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Brick-Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Rd, Owatonna, MN). Friends may greet the family beginning at 1:00 PM and continuing until the time of service.

Steve is the son of Darlene and Martin Jensen. He was born in Owatonna August 14, 1968. He was the oldest of three children. Steve graduated from Long Prairie High School in Long Prairie, MN, in 1987. While in school, he was involved in 4H and FFA.

Steven loved farming and helping his dad. Once he moved back to the Owatonna area, he was hired to work for different farmers.  Steve later decided to go to Rochester Community and Technical College for a custodial certificate.  He graduated from RCTC and started to work at the Medford High School as a janitor. He eventually ended up working at Fleet Farm as a security guard where you could find him in his “shack”.  Later, he became an employee at the NAPA warehouse in Owatonna.

Steve’s main hobby was vintage car racing; he owned his own race car.  Also, he was in an Iron Forging Club. Steve loved hunting, fishing, and had a special place in his heart for his two dogs which he considered family.  Steve enjoyed his new home which was built after a fire destroyed his first home in Hope in 2014. He took pride in his home and loved to cook and bake.  There are a lot of stories to share about all the concoctions he would put together. In his eyes, he would say “It all tasted pretty good!” Steve would do odd jobs for people mowing grass and cutting wood. Steve was old-fashioned sort of guy; he loved his rustic life of bachelor living.

Steve was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Hope.  He had a strong faith and attended his church faithfully.

Steve is survived by his parents, Martin and Darlene Jensen of Owatonna; sister, Joni (Tom) Trotter from North Carolina; brother, Mike (Andrea) Jensen of Owatonna; three nieces, Arianna, Alexa, and Auden; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and an infant niece, Alyssa.
