Lights, Rivals, Cure: Century and JM Face Off in Friday Night Tackle Cancer Game

Last Friday night, I was in the stands as the Century High School varsity football team beat Owatonna.  Not only was I cheering for this team, but the stands erupted in celebration, the students stormed the field to celebrate this huge win.  This was the team's first win in 19 games!

This Friday night, a cross-town rivalry football game is happening between Century and John Marshall...but the competition isn't just happening on the field.

Century Panthers and John Marshall Rockets Face Off to Tackle Cancer

The place to be Friday night, September 19th, is at Century High School...and it is all about LIGHTS - RIVALS - CURE!

In a powerful show of unity and purpose, both schools are teaming up to Tackle Cancer, turning the game into a community-wide fundraiser. And yes, it’s still a competition! Every dollar raised through t-shirt sales, food truck purchases, and halftime donations will count toward each school’s total. Let’s see which side can raise the most for the cause!

Tailgate with a Purpose Starting At 4:30 pm Friday at Century High School

Show up early, grab some food from the variety of vendors available, and help raise funds for Tackle Cancer.  A portion of the sales at the vendors below will be going towards the fundraiser:

• Minne'SNO'da Shaved Ice
• Sinners 'Sota

Limited-Edition Tackle Cancer T-Shirts Available While Supplies Last

Before the game starts, look for the spot to grab a limited-edition Tackle Cancer t-shirt!  They are only $10 and each shirt purchased will help your school's total.  It is anticipated that these will sell out so if you want one, you'll need to arrive early.

Halftime Showdown: Buckets for a Cure

While the players head in during halftime, another battle will be happening in the stands.  Watch for the buckets being passed around which will be collecting donations for Tackle Cancer.  Give generously and help your school team win the fundraising battle.
