New Recall Issued By FDA For Cheese Sold In Minnesota + Illinois

If you've been making those charcuterie boards, or just love adding cheese to everything, you need to put this recall on your radar.  In other words, if you don't check your refrigerator tonight, you could be sitting on the toilet later.

Check Your Refrigerator: Savencia Cheese USA Recall Impacting Aldi Stores and More in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Throughout the United States

This recall caught my attention specifically because of the word "cheese" and "Aldi".  17% of adults, including my own kids, shop at Aldi a few times each month.  Lately, our family has been enjoying sampling some of the soft cheeses from the refrigerated section at Aldi.

If you've got cheese in your fridge too, purchased from Aldi or other locations, this recall is one to pay attention to, especially if you are pregnant.

On November 2nd, the Food and Drug Administration sent out an initial report indicating that there was a voluntary recall by Savencia Cheese USA.  The reason was due to a possibility of contamination of Listeria monocytogenes in some of its soft-ripened cheeses manufactured in its Lena manufacturing facility.
