The Most Beautiful Winter Towns in the US
Travel + Leisure is the one who put together this list of the 20 most beautiful winter towns in the US. Before we get to the Minnesota town on the list, let's take a peek at the towns that made their top 5.
5. Jackson, WY
Travel + Leisure writes, "Two ski resorts are located here ... and Grand Teton National Park at the edge of town offers visitors the chance to see elk and other wildlife frolicking in the snow." I would love to see Grand Teton National Park someday, and seeing it in winter would be amazing.

I've never heard of Woodstock, Vermont, but maybe I should add it to my list. T+L says that it's an "adorable town ... with rolling hills, old covered bridges, and historic architecture."
Whitefish is in the Rocky Mountains and is home to Whitefish Mountain Resort, which T+L says has "3,000 acres of skiable terrain". Glacier National Park is also near Whitefish. This would be a stunning place to visit this time of year.
T+L writes, "This Bavarian village in the Cascade Mountains goes all out for the holidays with decorations, carolers, and yes, even sleigh rides". I love small towns that go all out with their decorations, it's so festive!
1. Aspen, CO
It's not surprising to me that a spot in Colorado was named the most beautiful winter town in the US. T+L writes, "Colorado’s most alluring see-and-be-seen resort town has legendary slopeside action, plus upscale boutiques, cool galleries, renowned restaurants, and luxurious accommodations".
Minnesota's Most Beautiful Winter Town
As for the Minnesota town that made the list, that title would go to Lanesboro!
I feel like we are CONSTANTLY talking about Laneboro being the perfect small town to visit for all sorts of reasons. It sounds to me like it's a place you can visit any time of year and you won't be disappointed.
Travel+Leisure writes that Lanesboro is "a gem of a town that’s tucked away in the bluffs of the Root River Valley" and that in the winter it "looks like a painting." I totally agree.
Lanesboro is also something like the bed and breakfast capital of Minnesota, so I think it's time to book a room and explore the town this winter.
