In a world full of coffee shops, both local and chain, you would think that if one shop struck gold with a delicious recipe, they'd want to keep it to themselves, right? That's not what Serena Walker, co-owner of Little Joy Coffee in Northfield, MN thinks at all.

In fact, she has shared the recipe for the coffee shop's best-selling latte for any coffee shop to steal (except the chains ;) ).

But... why?

Little Joy Coffee Shop's Raspberry Danish Latte

Serena does a series on Little Joy's social media called 'DIY or Buy'. She shows a drink made at her coffee shop being made and then determines if it's worth spending the money on or if it's easy for you to make at home.

One 'DIY or Buy' video that she shared in March featured their best-selling Raspberry Danish Latte. (BRB, I'm drooling.)

Serena showed how the latte is made, with made-in-house "raspberry syrup, whole milk, a double shot of espresso and fresh cream cheese cold foam." And in the end, determined this drink is far too demanding and time consuming to be worth making at home.

But there's only one Little Joy Coffee and thousands of people online who want this latte. So Serena said in the video,

“This brings us to a flaw in the whole ‘DIY or Buy’ premise." She said it doesn't make sense to make a trip just for a latte, “which is why we’re inviting any coffee shop to steal this drink and put it on their own menu. Not you, Starbucks.”

Co-owner Cody Larson told Today that this idea "fits with our belief that if all independent shops do better, we all do better."

And boy has that been true.

Where to Find the Viral Raspberry Danish Latte

If you're a coffee shop that wants access to the recipe, there's a website you head to, enter your name and email, and you can add your coffee shop to the map of coffee shops offering the Raspberry Danish Latte.

Hundreds of coffee shops around the world are now selling the famous Raspberry Danish Latte! From South Africa to New Zealand and Chile to Lithuania, local coffee shops are making this drink thanks to Serena and Little Joy Coffee in Northfield.

Cody told Today, "No one should drive more than 40 minutes for a coffee, no matter how viral it is."
