It hasn't been all bad news, though! Construction is moving along on a second First Meeting Noodle location, Popeyes, and 7-Brew Coffee. Now, we’re learning that one of Southeast Minnesota’s most popular destination restaurants is officially packing up its kitchen and moving into Rochester.

Regulars won't have to wait long or drive far to get another taste, though. On Friday, the owners announced they are taking over the former Glynner’s Pub location in Rochester

Glynner's closed during the summer of 2025 after more than 20 years in Rochester.

In a post shared to the The Pondy's Facebook page, the team called the transition "emotional and bittersweet," but expressed excitement for this new chapter.

The restaurant is rebranding to Riley’s Restaurant, with a target opening set for December 1, 2026.

The name on the sign is changing, but it sounds like the core menu is staying intact. The team says they’ll still serve the crowd favorites that made The Pondy a beloved local restaurant.
