This Rochester Home Looks Like Something Out of a Magazine

I have looked at a LOT of houses in and around Rochester.

Old houses with history, brand-new builds with that fresh-paint smell, houses with dream kitchens, and houses with enough acreage to completely lose yourself in. There have been homes that made me immediately start mentally placing my furniture and picking out paint colors.

But this one?

This one hit differently. This might genuinely be the coolest home I’ve ever seen pop up in the Med-City. I'd move right in and not change a thing!

It has that unmistakable midcentury-modern feel sitting on more than 6.5 acres with an amazing private pool, and some of the most unique features I’ve ever seen. There are things here I didn’t even know I wanted until I saw this place.

The 4,400+ square foot home was built in 1987 and has six bedrooms and four bathrooms, and It’s been owned by the exact same people ever since it was built, and honestly, I get it. Why on earth would you ever want to leave pure perfection?

What I really love about it, is it doesn't feel like it was designed to follow whatever trend happens to be taking over social media this week. It actually has a personality. Honestly, it's a work of art.

It turns out there's a good reason for that: the home was designed by John Howe, who was a chief draftsman and direct protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright.

And somehow, nearly 40 years after it was built, it still feels incredibly cool, completely timeless, and totally different from anything else I’ve been seeing around.
