When the worst small town in Wisconsin isn't bad enough to even make the top 10 worst small towns in Illinois.
I am unsure of how to feel about this. While perusing Wallet Hub's list of the best small cities in America, I noticed that tiny-town life in Wisconsin isn't bad.
That's because Franklin, the 10th worst small town in Wisconsin, is in the 67th percentile, with an overall score of 60.33.
Wallet Hub calculates a total score based on affordability, economic health, education, health, quality of life, and safety.
The worst small town in Wisconsin, according to the study, West Allis (a kind of surprising choice), ranked in the 38th percentile and scored an overall 55.9.
While that score isn't great, West Allis wouldn't be among Illinois's top 15 worst small towns.

I was interested in discovering why Brookfield ranked so high on WalletHub's list of great small cities.
Niche says the city is ranked highly due to its "public schools, quality of life for families, and housing. The website that calls itself the "market leader in connecting colleges and schools with students and families" gave Brookfield an overall grade of A+.
Regardless of whether you live in West Allis or Brookfield, small-town life in Wisconsin is better than not bad; it's almost dang good.
Just don't get me started on the Packers.
