Major Kristin "Beo" Wolfe will be one of many pilots this weekend demonstrating amazing skills in the sky, but she is one of the few female fighter pilots around. She is currently the Commander, of the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team, 388th Fighter Wing, out of Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

Wolfe grew up around Air Force bases her entire life as her father was a pilot in the Air Force as well. As a kid, she did attend quite a few airshows but never really thought about being a pilot herself until she became an adult. When asked what her favorite is she said the F-35A. She went on to say the stealth technology is what is the greatest feature of this jet which she currently flies,

According to her biography from the 388th Fighter Wing,  "Major Wolfe entered the Air Force in 2011 after receiving her commission from the U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Program at the University of Alabama. She is an experienced fighter pilot with more than 800 flying hours in the F-22A Raptor and F-35A Lightning II."

The F-35A  Lightning II is the U.S. Airforce's newest fifth-generation fighter jet. As you heard Major Wolfe talk about in the video above, the technology with this aircraft is the most advanced technology available. "It is designed to enable direct attack against the most heavily defended ground targets."

At 51 feet in length in 14 feet in height, there needs to be a lot of power to boost this jet. 43,000 pounds of thrust, and who is flying this amazing piece of modern technology? A female pilot by the name of  Major Kristin "Beo" Wolfe!
