The Medford girls basketball team opened their game Monday night versus Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton with an 11-0 run. They started the second half on a 13-0 burst. It added up to a 77-60 Gopher Conference victory. The game was shifted up one day due to the ongoing officials shortage for high school sports.

Clara Kniefel led the Tigers with 23 points. Anna Herr drained five three's on the way to 20 points. Andrea Bock scored 13. Nine Medford players scored.

The Bulldogs fought back from the initial deficit to get within four points (21-17) in the first half. JWP couldn't recover from the opening onslaught of the second half, and never got closer than 19 after Medford's strong start after the break.

Medford opened the night with a photo-finish. Jillian Kellen hit a jumper from the free throw line just as time was expiring in the junior varsity game for a 34-32 Tigers win.

Marion Home For Sale Was Constructed in Three Different Centuries

You read that right. This huge home was actually built over three centuries, beginning in 1839. The original brick home on the site, still a part of the home today, was originally a mail stop on the stagecoach line. Take a look inside the home at 1700 Banner Drive in Marion, with an asking price of $1.895 million.
