Midwest Mom Perishes in Fire but Saves Life of Her Baby

This is the kind of story that shows how strong the bond between a mother and child can be. This is a tale of one woman's courage and heart. At just 21 years old, Shelby Carter's 2017 started bright.  She became a Mom.  It's what she had always wanted.  Growing up, she enjoyed children.  She even worked as a baby sitter in her teen years.

Unfortunately, less than 2 weeks after becoming a Mom, Shelby faced a dire situation.  It would require to make a gut wrenching and heroic decision.  Ultimately, her fast action saved her toddler's life, sacrificing her own.
