Minneapolis’ Winter Makers Market Is Back With 65+ Vendors
Dayton’s Winter Maker’s Market is back for a second year, and you need to go to not only check out the amazing building but the more than 65 Minnesota-based brands and three different shopping experiences.
The holiday and winter market opened just yesterday and will be open until January 13th for you to experience! CBS News explains that “The Winter Makers Market is a mix of Minnesota heritage, showcased in grand hall of Minnesota history. Now, it's hosting diverse vendors in the shadow of decades past.”
In a video to go along with the article from CBS News, you are taken to a couple of vendors just to get a taste of what The Winters Market includes. Out of the 67 different vendors, you get to see Sanborn Canoe Company, which makes handcrafted canoe paddles in Winona, and GiftyWrap. GiftyWrap is a sturdy and recyclable wrapping paper with colorful designs created by local artists and started by MN native, Mahogany Ellis-Crutchfield as noted by CBS News.
But one of the amazing vendors featured is Shop in the City, which features several references to Dayton's past, including the famous Santa Bear, which will return in its true form this year!
Now, when I saw this Santa Bear, I was immediately taken back to when I was little. I had the chance to grow up with one of these famous Santa Bears and I didn’t even know it! Ugh, my heart immediately got excited because my Oma (Grandma in German) got it for me and it was one of my favorites as a child.
Linda Gitchell, the owner of Shop in The City shares that "People would line up around the building just for a silly Santa Bear," when it first came out.
I hope I get to find time this holiday season to check out The Winter Market before it closes on January 13th. The market is located on the first and second floors of the remodeled department store in downtown Minneapolis.
