Minnesota Man Donates Full Coin Jar to Animal Rescue in Honor of Late Wife
A Minnesota man recently shared a heartbreaking story with a Minnesota animal rescue, Midwest Animal Rescue and Services (MARS). The man had recently held his wife in his arms as she passed away. But she had left behind a jar full of coins to be donated to an organization, and he had decided MARS was the place to make the donation.
MARS posted his story on their Facebook page. They said he had sent them an email to let them know he had this donation he wanted to make. He said that after doing research he "decided to give her donation jar to MARS because of [their] financial transparency and he is confident the dogs will get the money." The total donation came out to $230.89.
Part of the team at MARS got to meet with this man, who they do not name in their Facebook post. He told them his story and told them about his wife and they introduced him to a dog named Loggins that was being adopted that day.
Adoption is so important. There are so many animals out there deserving of loving homes with a family of their own. Of course, in the meantime, while they wait to be adopted, the rescue that their at needs help to give the love, attention, food, and shelter these animals deserve. That's why rescues need people like this man and his late wife. MARS wrote on their Facebook post, "This is what rescue is. This is why we all spend sleepless nights, cry when things don't work out for the animals we so passionately care for."
