Minnesota Mom’s Can Fish Without a License This Weekend
This weekend is the 2024 Minnesota Fishing Opener, and it's also Mother's Day -- and the Minnesota DNR is ready to celebrate both.
This year, like every year on Mother’s Day weekend, all moms across Minnesota can fish for free without a license on both Saturday and Sunday.
Minnesota mothers can also take part in the 2024 Minnesota Moms Fishing Challenge to share fishing photos and win prizes.

How to Participate
The mom challenge will take place in the Facebook group from Saturday, May 11, at 12:00 a.m. until Sunday, May 12, at 11:59 p.m. During that time, submit one photo of each fish you catch. All species and sizes welcome. Snap a photo and let your fish go or keep it for dinner. (Bag limits and regulations do apply.)
Win Prizes
All moms who post a picture of their fish in the group between May 11th and 12th will be entered to win prizes provided by the Student Angler Organization and their partners, including gift cards for SCHEELS and Lund Boats. An Facebook admin will message winners on that social media platform after the challenge wraps up.
Good luck moms!
