Minnesota Nice! Twins Score Favorably In Survey To Find Most Annoying Baseball Fans
We've all been to sporting events where fans are out of control. Usually, it's the opposing team's fans trying to stir things up and the more heated the rivalry, the more crazy things can get.
Now, don't get me wrong, I think this can be a lot of fun. Take, for example, when the Minnesota Twins play the Milwaukee Brewers. Sometimes the banter that happens in the stands is more fun than the actual game. However, there are times when fans take it too far and it gets ugly. There's usually beer involved.
Rivalries aside, who do you think has the most annoying fans in all of Major League Baseball? That was exactly what Crestline set out to discover when they surveyed 1,000 baseball fans across the country to ask their opinions of MLB fan bases and players.
Survey respondents told them which baseball teams have the most annoying fans, and even the most annoying players and managers. When it comes to the most annoying fans, here's your Top 10:
- New York Yankees
- Boston Red Sox
- Houston Astros
- Los Angeles Dodgers
- Philadelphia Phillies
- Chicago Cubs
- St. Louis Cardinals
- Atlanta Braves
- New York Mets
- Chicago White Sox
Not surprisingly, most of those teams can also be found in the Top 10 of Worst Behaved Fans. The most annoying fan behavior included things like getting into fights at games, bad sportsmanship, and bandwagon fans.
So, what about Minnesota Twins fans? Well, it seems that Minnesota Nice shined through. Minnesota Twins fans were voted the 2nd best-behaved and 6th least annoying fanbase in MLB.
Here are the top 10 teams with the best-behaved fan bases:
- Seattle Mariners
- Minnesota Twins
- Milwaukee Brewers
- Baltimore Orioles
- Arizona Diamondbacks
- Washington Nationals
- San Diego Padres
- Kansas City Royals
- Colorado Rockies
- Cleveland Guardians
Things were all sunshine and roses for the Twins as Carlos Correa was voted the 5th most annoying player in MLB. I think he should wear that as a badge of honor.
The survey also revealed that across baseball, 43% of fans said they had another fan ruin a sporting event for them. Twins fans were the 3rd most likely to have a game ruined by another fan.
