A 19 year old was arrested in Iowa last Wednesday after he was searched when the vehicle he was a passenger in was pulled over for speeding in the early morning hours. Officers detected the smell of marijuana.

According to the Des Moines Register, Jose Pedro Castillo is in the Warren County (Iowa) jail charged with possessing between 100 and 1,000 grams of heroin. Assistant Warren County Attorney Alex Crabb estimated Monday that the drugs had a street value of somewhere from $46,000 to 91,000.

Castillo faces a Class B felony, the second highest level in Iowa. The maximum sentence is 25 years but it’s unlikely Castillo will receive a sentence that high, Crabb said, adding that a judge will determine the sentence. Fines could cost from $5,000 to $100,000.

He is still in jail on $105,000 cash bond. He has one prior conviction in Minnesota, according to court records, and was convicted in June for driving without a license, a petty misdemeanor.
