North Mankato Police Annex Open For Residents During Brutal Heat Wave
The past few days have been torturous, and unfortunately, today will be no different.
Thankfully, I reside in a very nice air-conditioned office, followed by a nicely air-conditioned apartment. To say I'm lucky (and grateful) is an understatement.
However, this isn't the case for everyone. One of my best friend's family lives without AC, and during times like these, I simply couldn't imagine. (Sounds brutal.)
Fortunately, the people around North Mankato who are suffering due to the extreme heat have an oasis they can escape to if needed.
The North Mankato Police Annex Community Room is open to those looking for a bit of comfort in the hot temperatures.
Located on 1001 Belgrade Ave., the room welcomes any who seek shelter. The room is open to the public until 5 pm today.
According to a press release from the city, water and restrooms are also available.
For more information, contact City Hall at 507-625-4141.
