He's been recording since 1995, had a few hits and won an ACM award ... Jack Ingram, according to his website.

Jack Ingram grew up in Texas. The first time he took to the stage was during drama class in high school as a senior to fill a requirement. Ingram went on to Southern Methodist University to learn more about music.

He started going to and packing bars in the area with his Beat Up Ford Band. He eventually was signed with a record label and they released his independent albums. After that label went out of business, he signed with another. His reputation grew as a great songwriter but he was not getting any airplay.

Ingram then signed with Big Machine Records and "Wherever You Are" was released as a live album. Next was "This Is It" with the top hit "Wherever You Are." He was awarded "Best New Male Vocalist" from Academy of Country Music (ACM) in 2008.

A couple years later, he released the album "Big Hope & Big Dreams" and the songs "Barefoot and Crazy," a Top Ten, and "That's A Man."

Jack Ingram will be in New Mexico in March.
