Owatonna's student section went with a construction theme Friday night. The Huskies offensive and defensive lines did their part in bulldozing the team to a 56-13 victory. The win was the 22nd in a row for the two-time defending state champions.

The offensive line of Liam Dublin, Nate Smith, Zach Wiese, Luke Effertz, and Carter DeBus opened up holes for Tanner Hall who then made some great moves to extend each of his runs. Hall had 15 carries for about 175 yards and two touchdowns. The Huskies first two plays of the game were a 49-yard run by Ethan Walter and a 20-yard dash for Isaac Gefre for the opening score.

The defensive front line of Ethan Rohman, Gavin Rein, and Josh O'Daffer held the Trojans to less than 15 yards rushing in the first half. Rohman also intercepted a screen pass late in the second quarter.

Brayden Truelson had three touchdown passes in the first half, connecting with Matt Williams for 11 yards, Walter for 10 yards and DeKam for 21 yards. Truelson also ran in a score. The Huskies scored 21 points in the first quarter and poured on 28 more in the second quarter for a 49-6 halftime lead.

Gefre had a very strong day from his linebacker spot. Payton Bayer intercepted a pass. Sam Henson and Lane Versteeg connected on all of their extra-point tries and repeatedly forced New Prague to start from their 20 with their kickoffs.

Owatonna (3-0) goes to Rochester Mayo for a 7 pm game on Friday, September 20. The Huskies next home game isn't until October 4 with homecoming against Mankato West.
