Julie Anderson, the Executive Director of Transitional Housing of Steele County, shares that the giveHOPE Concert to Benefit Transitional Housing will be occurring this month!

Local musicians will gather Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Owatonna High School Auditorium for the annual giveHOPE Concert, benefiting Transitional Housing of Steele County. There will be a free-will offering during the concert.

According to the press release for the event,

Nine years ago, Tammi and Michael Ferch enlisted the help of their local musical family and friends to present the annual concert in the fall around the time of Thanksgiving. The concert highlights vocalists and instrumentalists of all ages from around the community, including the Ferches and a host of family, friends, and community members with very familiar faces.

The goals are to provide an evening of entertaining, inspiring, and uplifting music while raising funds for Transitional Housing of Steele County. The event is sponsored by Mohs Homes, Bohlen Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning, Hometown Credit Union, and anonymous donors.

Transitional Housing is an interfaith group responding to people with housing needs. It works with groups to help create, locate, and enter affordable housing.

Noted by the press release, the individuals in the program "find their own affordable apartment, sign their own lease, and pay a portion of their own rent according to their income. Transitional Housing helps to subsidize this rent. Case management is provided on a weekly basis to help people find jobs and remain employed. Transitional Housing clients are in the program for up to two years and must make adequate progress toward self-sufficiency.”

So, look forward to Saturday, November 26, at 7:00 pm for the giveHOPE Concert! For more information on Transitional Housing of Steele County, please call Julie Anderson at 507-446-9315.
