Another restaurant is closing due to "circumstances" out of the owner's "control". Marino's Restaurant, which takes its name from the infamous Marino's Deli in Minneapolis announced on social media that it was closing its restaurant in Fridley, but would keep the deli open as well as still offer catering services.

The closure of Marino's Restaurant is slated for September 5th according to the social media posting.

The note on Friday stated:

We regret to inform you that due to circumstances out of our control, we are forced to close our doors to the public on September 5th, 2021. The last couple of years have been the likes of nothing seen before. We wish to give our heartfelt thanks to all of you that have supported us over the past 52 years. There are many wonderful memories of which so many of you are part. We will continue to cater,(www.eatmarinos.com) and Marino’s Deli will still be operational. Love Ed, Cheryl, and the rest of the Matthes Family

Established in March of 1969, Marino’s Cafe was the dream of Mary Marino. She with her sons Jimmy and Louie set up a business on Central Avenue, in Northeast Minneapolis. The business outgrew that location on Central and then moved to the corner of NE 22nd Ave and NE Johnson Street as been operating as a deli//catering place since 1985.

The news of the closing hit some folks hard online.
