Portions of Southern Minnesota Included in Severe Thunderstorm Watch
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of southern Minnesota in effect until 10 pm tonight.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch includes Dodge, Freeborn, Goodhue, Le Sueur, Rice, Steele, and Waseca Counties (+more) -- and also includes the entire Twin Cities metro area.
The primary threats will be damaging wind gusts, large hail, and frequent lightning. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for the formation of severe thunderstorms in and near the watch area.

Hail up to 2 inches in diameter and wind gusts up to 70 mph will be possible in any storms that become severe this evening.
