Two night after scoring three power play goals in a 5-1 win at South St. Paul, the Owatonna boys hockey squad scored on four power plays in a 7-1 victory at Winona. Not only did OHS score on those man-advantage situations, they potted an extremely unusual goal when they scored while killing a 5-on-3 power play for Winona.

The Huskies were leading 1-0 at the time after Collin Pederson scored with an assist from Dom Valento at 4:16. While playing down two skaters, the Huskies cleared the puck the length of the ice. Wyatt Oldenfendt was hovering around the slot when the Winhawks goalie and a teammate apparently had a missed connection and put the puck toward the front of their own net for an easy marker for Oldenfendt. He also scored later in the first period on a nice rising shot from the left wing. That power play goal put OHS up 3-1 going into intermission.

The game started to get chippy in the second period with three checking-from-behind penalties. No one suffered any apparent injuries from the infractions. The Huskies got power play goals from Taylor Bogen, Zach Kubicek, and Pederson in the middle frame for a 6-1 lead after two periods.

Late in the third period Owatonna's Sam Knoll scored his first varsity goal to wrap up the scoring in the 7-1 win. The game was worth four points in the Big Nine standings as it was the only time the teams will play this season.

Tru Gieseke got his first varsity win in goal. He stopped 25 shots. The only goal he allowed was on a Winhawk power play.  OHS won the junior varsity game 8-2.

The Huskies open their home schedule Thursday, December 12 against Rochester John Marshall.
