Prison For Thefts of Coins From Laundry Machines at Rochester Apt

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Twin Cities man has been given a more than four-year prison sentence for a second-degree burglary conviction stemming from a series of break-ins at a Rochester apartment complex.

37-year-old Cody Hendrickson of Richfield recently admitted to the felony charge through a plea agreement that led to the dismissal of six other second-degree burglary charges along with 14 misdemeanor offenses related to the theft of coins from coin-operated washing machines and dryers located in seven separate buildings at the Silver Lake Apartments. According to the criminal complaint, Hendrickson and an accomplice stole approximately $150 in coins. They also caused more than $2200 in damage to the laundry machines and the security door locks in the buildings in late February of last year.

When he entered into the plea agreement earlier this month, Hendrickson was already in prison. He was sentenced last fall to more than eight years in prison for a drug conviction in Scott County. The sentencing order in the Rochester case indicates he will be allowed to serve the 52-month sentence for the burglary conviction concurrently with the longer prison term.
