Ricochet, Still Going Strong

They topped the charts in 1996, have gone on USO Tours and are famous for charting the national anthem: Ricochet, according to their website.

Members of Ricochet are: on lead vocals, Heath Wright, who also is lead guitar and fiddle. Lead whistler and playing the drums is Chris Hempfling. Back-up whistler and on bass guitar is Steve Hamby. Larry Hight plays steel guitar, electric and acoustic guitar and saxophone. Keyboards and on trumpet is Matt Harelick. And all sing in harmony.

Ricochet's debut single, "What Do I Know," was in 1996 and was in the Top 5 on the charts. Their next single, "Daddy's Money," topped the charts for two weeks.

Ricochet has even charted the national anthem, and they are the only country artists to do that. They have gone to many sporting events to sing the national anthem.

The group has made many TV appearances on The Tonight Show, The Grand Ole Opry and award shows.

In 2000 and 2001, Richochet headlined USO Tours traveling to perform for our troops in Japan and Korea, then to Spain, Turkey and Germany. They have performed at the Grateful Nation Award ceremony in 2009-11 in Washington, D.C. This award recognizes servicemen and women who show superior conduct in the war on terrorism.

Ricochet awards include from the ACMs: Top New Vocal Group and Top Vocal Group. From the CMAs, they were a Top Vocal Group Finalists. The group had songs in the Top 10 and Top 20 including "Love is Stronger Than Pride" and "Blink of an Eye."

Ricochet, 15 years and counting, continues to tour and make music.
