River Bend Nature Center in Faribault has openings on its volunteer Board of Directors. The board meets once a month and members also must serve on a committee and be a member of River Bend Nature Center. For apply and find out more, check out the River Bend Nature Center web site. Applications are due on Tuesday, July 10. The openings will be filled by a membership vote during the annual meeting on July 26.

Coming up at River Bend is their monthly OWLS Lunch and Learn program on Wednesday, July 18 starting at noon. enjoy a soup/salad luncheon followed by a presentation on a natural history topic. July's gathering will feature farmer and educator Dave Legvold who will discuss his "view from the tractor's seat". The cost is $12 or $10 for non members.

Also the next class for home schooled children in K-6th grade will be Monday, July 23 at 2PM. The lesson will deal with predator-prey relationships. The cost is $8. You need to pre-register your child by Friday, July 20.
