Rochester VFW Burglarized
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities are investigating a burglary that damaged the Rochester VFW.
Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen said officers responded to the VFW in the 2700 block of 43rd St. Northwest around 4:30 Tuesday morning. The cleaning staff had arrived to clean the building then called police once they noticed the front door of the building appeared to have been broken.
Moilanen said responding officers reported that the glass front entrance door had been broken out. Officers then cleared the building and found no one was inside.
Police say a door on the interior of the building also appeared to have been damaged. Moilanen said the door was for a room that houses the safe.
Investigators suspect the burglary suspect or suspects were scared out of the business because nothing appeared to have been stolen. Moilanen said investigators are awaiting confirmation from the owner that nothing was taken.
A damage estimate for the burglary is not yet available. So far no arrests have been made.
