Salvation Army Needs Hundreds of Volunteers For Mayo’s Unlimited Match
This is a picture from a couple years ago...a big group of people ringing bells for the Rochester Salvation Army. And it's just what they need now. Truly need. Hundreds of volunteers are needed to ring bells next Friday and Saturday.
Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th are two very important days for ringing at the Red Kettles because Mayo has offered a limitless match those two days. For those two days there are 688 hours available for people to register to ring. Unfortunately, as it stands right now, only 396 of those hours are reserved by ringers.
Rebecca Snapp of the Rochester Salvation Army says almost anyone can ring.
...The Salvation Army is putting out a huge cry for bell ringers! Anyone available to ring is encouraged to visit registertoring.com or call 507-288-3663 to register to ring. (We) truly encourage community members to brave the elements, and consider ringing at the outdoor kettle locations, like Fleet Farm and the Walmarts, to help those weathering the storms of life, although there are indoor locations also available.
If people are under 16, they have to be with an adult to ring...and sorry, no pets allowed.
With the unlimited Mayo Match, all donations (checks, credit card, and cash) put in the red kettles in Rochester, Stewartville, and Chatfield, will be matched dollar for dollar by Mayo Clinic.
Rabe's Thoughts - This is an incredibly important weekend for the Salvation Army. The dental clinic, the day care, the shelter for people that are homeless, housing for homeless and so much more (including Church every Sunday) mean we really need to come together and rally the people in our world to the cause. Please.
