Severe Weather Possible Across Southern Minnesota Today
The National Weather Service says that there's a potential for widespread severe weather across southern Minnesota today into tonight.
Numerous strong to severe thunderstorms are forecasted for this afternoon and evening across southern Minnesota with the potential of producing few tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail. Although some storms are possible in the morning, the strongest threat for severe weather is this evening.
Remain weather-aware today and tonight, and have multiple ways to receive warnings.
Two rounds of heavy rain are expected Tuesday into Wednesday. Areas below highlighted in yellow will have the greatest risk of flash flooding. With rivers running near or above normal, any additional rainfall will also increase the possibility of river flooding during the Memorial Day weekend, especially along the Minnesota River.
