Severe Weather Possible Across Southern Minnesota
Southern Minnesota has the possibility of seeing severe storms develop this afternoon into tonight.
Temperatures will climb into the low 90s today with dew points in the mid 70s. Heat indices will approach 100. This will create a very moist and unstable environment, setting the stage for severe weather.
Destructive winds of 70-80 mph and hail larger than 2” are the primary threats, but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out.

While severe weather may be the main story today, don’t forget to practice heat safety. Stay well hydrated, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, avoid strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day, and NEVER leave kids or pets unattended.
