Severe Weather Risk for Parts of Southern Minnesota Tonight
The National Weather Service says there's a slight risk of strong to severe thunderstorms tonight across portions of southern Minnesota.
A line of showers and storms is expected to reach western Minnesota later this evening, moving through the rest of the area overnight. A few tornadoes are possible initially in western Minnesota, with gusty winds and hail the primary threats as it evolves eastwards overnight.
The main threats in south central Minnesota are large hail and damaging winds, with the highest risk coming between 7 pm and 1 am.
Another round of showers and thunderstorms are possible on Friday during the afternoon and evening, with large hail and damaging winds being the primary threats. The most likely locations to see storms is along and east of I-94.
