How serious is this? The forecast is 70% chance of thunderstorms, and there may not be a ton of rain being forecast (about 1 inch for Rochester), but lots of other factors to consider. Here's info directly from the National Weather Service...

Numerous severe storms are possible across the region beginning late Saturday afternoon and continuing into the night.

Primary threats include damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall. Large hail threat is more likely in the initial stages of the event, but as storms congeal into a line then damaging winds become the primary threat.

Cannot completely rule out brief isolated tornados embedded within the line. Heavy rainfall repeating over the same location would also increase the flash flooding threat.

Adjustments to the forecast will be made as exact timing and spatial coverage details become more clear closer to the event. Plan now, especially if you have outdoor related weekend plans. (NWS)
