While last week had some exciting brewery news, this week brings in sad and surprising news.

Lawless Distilling Company, located at 2619 28th Ave S, Minneapolis has announced that it will be closing nearly after 10 years of operation (since 2014).

Lawless was a beloved brewery that many loved to go to, especially during the holidays. Their “Miracle at Lawless Drifting” was their “holiday-themed pop-up cocktail bar that serves seasonal cocktails in a festive setting. With kitschy holiday décor, professionally-developed cocktails, and the nostalgic energy of the best office party you’ve ever been to,” as noted by Lawless. The festivities ran from late November to New Year’s Eve.

However, this past weekend Lawless shared on social media that “the wear and tear of the pandemic has taken its toll and we’re unable to continue forward.” They continued to say that they are so very appreciative of the amazing staff and all the incredible work they have done. Lawless’ last day of operation was Saturday, January 28th.

Lawless Distillery was truly amazing as it was a family-owned business that produces, bottles, and packages spirits and liqueurs by hand. Its cocktail lounge also offered different seasonal menus including Miracle at Lawless Drifting.

On a lighter note, Bring Me The News does share that a spokesperson told them Lawless will continue its distilling production operations.

This is so sad to hear, but I’m glad they can still continue production operations. Although I will definitely pour one out for the location in Minneapolis, as I am sad I never made it to Miracle at Lawless Drifting.
