Exactly two hours West of Rochester, Minnesota, is the city of Truman. Population? About 1,100. High school senior class size? 10. Number of seniors available for homecoming king? 0.

There Was No Turman High School 2022 Homecoming King Candidate

As reported in a Truman Tribune story by Jennifer Brookens,

It had been a running joke for nearly a year when it was first noticed: Truman’s Class of 2023 was composed of all females. “Well, that’s going to make Homecoming interesting,” would be said with a laugh.

There's no word if this is a first for Truman, Minnesota, but it might make you think the town is dwindling to almost nothing. That is not the case. In 1950 the city's population was 1,106. In 1980, 1,392 people lived in Truman, MN. As noted above, its population stands now at around 1,100.

The Truman High School All-Girl Homecoming Court Had A Blast

Somehow or other (sarcasm!) the Senior Class Homecoming Court got along fine without the boys, having fun with all the contests, challenges, and events scheduled for the coronation.

As is appropriate to their position as 9th graders, the attendants had a blast narrowing down the numbers to one.

However, the tough part of the night came down to learning who was the chosen queen...The ninth-grade attendants Samantha Urban and Griffin Studer almost seemed to take a little too much pleasure torturing the poor girls by teasing them when handing out the consolation trophies. The final two candidates left were Alexa Farnum and Johnnie Zaharia, with Farnum being crowned queen.

The other candidates included: Gracie Zaharia, Casidy Moon, Laurel Holtz and Kaiya Bonilla. (Source)
