Small Town East of Owatonna Giving Away Free Land as Incentive to Move
If you're looking to move, Claremont, Minnesota has a great opportunity for you. The small southeast Minnesota town east of Owatonna is giving away free land as an incentive to get people to move there. That's thousands of dollars of savings!
You do need to meet a certain income qualification in order to qualify for this free land. The city of Claremont put together a form for people who are interested to fill out along with more details about this free land. The income qualifications that they mention are:
Households of 2 or less people with a gross income of $91,800 or less
Households of 3 or more people with a gross income of $105,570 or less
If you don't meet those qualifications but you're still interested in getting in on one of these plots of land, there's a chance for you to buy a plot at a discounted price. If you make more than the income qualification above, a family plot of land is available for purchase for $9,500.
There's a total of 12 family plots that Claremont set aside for free (or the $9,500 price). However, so far 4 of them have been sold, so there are 8 left. If you're interested I'd suggest filling out an application soon, which you can find HERE.
I haven't seen anything talking about the size of the plot but it looks like your 'typical' plot of land for a single-family home. You can see the plots that are available HERE.
