Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Tuesday is expected to be the warmest day in southeast Minnesota since around Election Day and it could be a record-setter for some cities.

The National Weather Service is forecasting high temperatures in the low to mid 60s in most areas. A few could reach the upper 60s.

The last time Rochester experienced temperatures in the 60s was Nov. 9th when the high reached 65 degrees.

Rochester’s record high for March 9 is 59 degrees, set in 1977.

The recent run of warmer weather has melted most of the snow cover and is beginning to thaw the soil. The frost depth in the Rochester area had been measured at around four feet during the final two weeks in February.
